Brandon Johnson for Cook County Commissioner, 1st District

Reclaim Chicago is proud to endorse Brandon Johnson for the Cook County Board of Commissioners District 1, which covers a large portion of Chicago’s west side and near west suburbs, because he shares our belief that government should promote racial, gender and economic justice as well as protecting human rights. As commissioner, Brandon will fight to protect and expand public services, to protect the workers who provide those services,

and to fund government’s work by making millionaires and billionaires pay their fair share. Brandon believes it’s time for Democrats to stop governing on the Republican talking points of “cuts, closures, and efficiencies”. He supports full funding for Cook County Health and Hospitals System and has substantive ideas about how county government can make investments in the well-being of people and communities. Brandon is also committed to working with Reclaim Chicago and our allies to create a “People and Planet First Budget” for Cook County. He is a former Chicago Public Schools teacher and a political organizer with the Chicago Teachers’ Union. Brandon lives in Austin with his wife and three children.

Knock doors for Brandon Johnson with Reclaim Oak Park’s members on the first and third Sundays of the month from 1-5 PM at 6610 W. North Ave in Oak Park. Send questions or RSVP to Jamie Pfluecke at james.pfluecke@gmail.com.
