Theresa Mah for Illinois State Representative, 2nd District

Reclaim Chicago is proud to endorse Theresa Mah for reelection as Illinois State Representative of the 8th District, which includes parts of Chicago’s Pilsen, Bridgeport and McKinley Park neighborhoods, because Theresa is a strong supporter of our People and Planet First budget proposal. Theresa has also been a leader in building support for the Student ACCESS Bill, a bill that would ensure undocumented students and students with drug convictions are eligible for in-state tuition and financial aid

at Illinois’ public universities.  Theresa has also been at the forefront of fighting for immigrants’ rights and supports other initiatives that improve the lives of poor and middle class people, including championing a bill that would repeal a state law against local rent control ordinances. Constituents praise Theresa for her accessibility, her commitment to opposing Rauner’s austere state budget proposals, and her focus on the needs of the communities she serves. Theresa just completed her first term. She is the first Asian-American to serve in the Illinois state legislature.
